# Hebrew by Nemo vs Babbel

Hebrew by Nemo and Babbel both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 91% of Hebrew by Nemo's written reviews are positive against 44% of Babbel's. Hebrew by Nemo also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). Babbel's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (755K vs 13K). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hebrew by Nemo sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Babbel sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $17.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Hebrew by Nemo against 4.7 for Babbel. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Babbel has 755K ratings behind it against 13K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 91% of Hebrew by Nemo's written reviews are positive against 44% of Babbel's.

Hebrew by Nemo ships an update every 2 months, Babbel every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 1, 2026.
