# Memrise vs Flashside

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Flashside at none against Memrise's 16. Flashside also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 68%). Memrise's advantage is ratings volume (217K vs 2) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Memrise sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Flashside asks for nothing beyond the download.

Flashside holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8.
