# Memrise vs Mondly

The clearest difference is ads: Mondly at none against Memrise's shown. Memrise's advantage is chart position (#170 vs unranked) and ratings volume (217K vs 33K). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Memrise sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Mondly sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Memrise against 4.7 for Mondly. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Memrise has 217K ratings behind it against 33K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 68% of Memrise's written reviews are positive against 74% of Mondly's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
