# Just 2 Words vs X

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: X at none against Just 2 Words's 5. X also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 6 months). Just 2 Words's advantage is ratings volume (2K vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.5). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Just 2 Words sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. X asks for nothing beyond the download.

X holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Just 2 Words has 2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 89% of Just 2 Words's written reviews are positive against 100% of X's.

Just 2 Words ships an update every 6 months, X every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
