# RECS vs Glitch Video Effect

The clearest difference is rating: Glitch Video Effect at 4.3 against RECS's 3.0. Glitch Video Effect also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 10) and review sentiment (76% vs 56%). RECS's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RECS sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Glitch Video Effect sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Glitch Video Effect holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Glitch Video Effect has 1.2K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 56% of RECS's written reviews are positive against 76% of Glitch Video Effect's.

RECS ships an update every 2 months, Glitch Video Effect every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
