# Solitaire vs FreeCellﾠ Solitaire

Solitaire and FreeCellﾠ Solitaire both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 87% of Solitaire's written reviews are positive against 44% of FreeCellﾠ Solitaire's. Solitaire also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 8) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). FreeCellﾠ Solitaire's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 41 months). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FreeCellﾠ Solitaire sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per year. Solitaire asks for nothing beyond the download.

FreeCellﾠ Solitaire holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 279 and 470 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 87% of Solitaire's written reviews are positive against 44% of FreeCellﾠ Solitaire's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Solitaire ships an update every 41 months, FreeCellﾠ Solitaire every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
