# ElephantDrive vs Sync

The clearest difference is rating: Sync at 3.7 against ElephantDrive's 2.9. Sync also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (26 vs 7). ElephantDrive's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 11) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sync sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. ElephantDrive asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sync holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 2.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 26 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of ElephantDrive's written reviews are positive against 50% of Sync's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ElephantDrive ships an update every 4 months, Sync every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
