# Brainwave Visualizer vs Gruvy

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Brainwave Visualizer at 58% against Gruvy's 22%. Brainwave Visualizer also leads on iOS requirement (7.1 vs 16.0). Gruvy's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 42 months) and rating (4.2 vs 4.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Gruvy holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gruvy has 66 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of Brainwave Visualizer's written reviews are positive against 22% of Gruvy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brainwave Visualizer ships an update every 42 months, Gruvy fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
