# Daily Graph Notes Diary vs SmartScanner

The clearest difference is rating: SmartScanner at 4.7 against Daily Graph Notes Diary's 3.9. SmartScanner also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 19 months). Daily Graph Notes Diary's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (50% vs 40%). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SmartScanner sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Daily Graph Notes Diary asks for nothing beyond the download.

SmartScanner holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartScanner has 1.2K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Daily Graph Notes Diary's written reviews are positive against 40% of SmartScanner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Daily Graph Notes Diary ships an update every 19 months, SmartScanner every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
