# Mobile Data Collection vs Mapit GIS

The clearest difference is update cadence: Mapit GIS at weekly against Mobile Data Collection's every 2 months. Mapit GIS also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 80%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Mobile Data Collection's advantage is ratings volume (41 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mobile Data Collection sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $39.99 per month and Mapit GIS sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $12.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mapit GIS holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mobile Data Collection has 41 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 80% of Mobile Data Collection's written reviews are positive against 100% of Mapit GIS's.

Mobile Data Collection ships an update every 2 months, Mapit GIS weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
