# Racemap vs Trail Connect

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Racemap at none against Trail Connect's 9. Racemap also leads on review sentiment (53% vs 33%). Trail Connect's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.0) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Trail Connect sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.49 per month. Racemap asks for nothing beyond the download.

Trail Connect holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 20 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Racemap's written reviews are positive against 33% of Trail Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Racemap ships an update every 6 weeks, Trail Connect fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
