# VatMap vs Touch Portal

The clearest difference is rating: Touch Portal at 4.5 against VatMap's 4.0. Touch Portal also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (800 vs 22). VatMap's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Touch Portal sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. VatMap asks for nothing beyond the download.

Touch Portal holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Touch Portal has 800 ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of VatMap's written reviews are positive against 55% of Touch Portal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VatMap ships an update fortnightly, Touch Portal every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 13, 2026.
