# SimpleSign vs Picnic

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SimpleSign at 100% against Picnic's 63%. SimpleSign also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 23) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Picnic's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 9 months). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Picnic sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. SimpleSign asks for nothing beyond the download.

SimpleSign holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Picnic has 10K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of SimpleSign's written reviews are positive against 63% of Picnic's.

SimpleSign ships an update every 9 months, Picnic every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
