# Cosmic Brush vs Painterly Impressions

The clearest difference is monetization model: Cosmic Brush at free with in-app purchases against Painterly Impressions's subscription. Cosmic Brush also leads on ratings volume (132 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). Painterly Impressions's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and review sentiment (100% vs 88%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cosmic Brush sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Painterly Impressions sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Painterly Impressions holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cosmic Brush has 132 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 88% of Cosmic Brush's written reviews are positive against 100% of Painterly Impressions's.
