# BossNote vs LazyMonkey

The clearest difference is rating: LazyMonkey at 4.6 against BossNote's 4.0. LazyMonkey also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 16) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). BossNote's advantage is iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BossNote sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and LazyMonkey sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LazyMonkey holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LazyMonkey has 1.1K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 68% of BossNote's written reviews are positive against 86% of LazyMonkey's.

BossNote ships an update every 2 months, LazyMonkey every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
