# Join The Dots vs Train your Brain

The clearest difference is rating: Train your Brain at 4.6 against Join The Dots's 4.1. Train your Brain also leads on ratings volume (504 vs 7). Join The Dots's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 4 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Join The Dots sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Train your Brain sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Train your Brain holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Train your Brain has 504 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Join The Dots's written reviews are positive against 40% of Train your Brain's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Join The Dots ships an update weekly, Train your Brain every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
