# NovelOasis vs NovelsReader

The clearest difference is rating: NovelOasis at 4.4 against NovelsReader's 1.4. NovelOasis also leads on review sentiment (46% vs 7%) and ads (none vs shown). NovelsReader's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and chart position there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NovelOasis sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and NovelsReader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NovelOasis holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NovelOasis has 1.5K ratings behind it against 60, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 46% of NovelOasis's written reviews are positive against 7% of NovelsReader's.

NovelOasis ships an update fortnightly, NovelsReader every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 15, 2026.
