# NovelOasis vs Between Covers

The clearest difference is rating: Between Covers at 5.0 against NovelOasis's 4.4. Between Covers also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription). NovelOasis's advantage is ratings volume (1.5K vs 1) and chart position (#88 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NovelOasis sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Between Covers sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Between Covers holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NovelOasis has 1.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NovelOasis ships an update fortnightly, Between Covers every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
