# a better meal vs NextSizzle

The clearest difference is monetization model: NextSizzle at freemium against a better meal's subscription. NextSizzle also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). a better meal's advantage is ratings volume (61 vs 4) and chart position (#192 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. a better meal sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and NextSizzle sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NextSizzle holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: a better meal has 61 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 88% of a better meal's written reviews are positive against 100% of NextSizzle's.

a better meal ships an update fortnightly, NextSizzle every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
