# Backgammon vs Persian Spy

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Backgammon at 85K against Persian Spy's 30. Backgammon also leads on chart position (#166 vs unranked). Persian Spy's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Persian Spy sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Backgammon against 4.4 for Persian Spy. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon has 85K ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Backgammon ships an update every 2 months, Persian Spy every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
