# Commuter Connect vs FlexRide by TheRide

The clearest difference is monetization model: Commuter Connect at free against FlexRide by TheRide's free with in-app purchases. Commuter Connect also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). FlexRide by TheRide's advantage is ratings volume (127 vs 1) and review sentiment (60% vs 50%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Commuter Connect holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlexRide by TheRide has 127 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Commuter Connect's written reviews are positive against 60% of FlexRide by TheRide's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
