# Basic vs Flashcards

The clearest difference is update cadence: Flashcards at every 3 weeks against Basic's every 22 months. Basic's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Basic sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Flashcards sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Basic ships an update every 22 months, Flashcards every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and August 25, 2026 respectively.
