# Mapway vs eXactnav

The clearest difference is review sentiment: eXactnav at 100% against Mapway's 25%. eXactnav also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 14) and ads (none vs shown). Mapway's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.7) and update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mapway sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. eXactnav asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mapway holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mapway has 1.1K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Mapway's written reviews are positive against 100% of eXactnav's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mapway ships an update monthly, eXactnav every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
