# Spy vs Room Check

Spy and Room Check both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 45% of Spy's written reviews are positive against 14% of Room Check's. Spy also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 14 months) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 106). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spy sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Room Check sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spy holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spy has 1.1K ratings behind it against 106, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 45% of Spy's written reviews are positive against 14% of Room Check's.

Spy ships an update every 4 weeks, Room Check every 14 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
