# Jam vs BackingBand

The clearest difference is ads: BackingBand at none against Jam's shown. BackingBand also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months). Jam's advantage is iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Jam sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and BackingBand sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Jam ships an update every 2 months, BackingBand every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
