# BB vs Lockdown

The clearest difference is rating: BB at 4.9 against Lockdown's 3.9. BB also leads on ratings volume (402 vs 7) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Lockdown's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 90%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BB sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Lockdown sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BB holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BB has 402 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of BB's written reviews are positive against 100% of Lockdown's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BB ships an update every 3 weeks, Lockdown every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
