# Whisper Memos vs Simple Scan

The clearest difference is update cadence: Whisper Memos at every 3 days against Simple Scan's monthly. Simple Scan's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and review sentiment (88% vs 76%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Whisper Memos sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $8.00 per 7 days and Simple Scan sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Simple Scan holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 434 and 671 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 76% of Whisper Memos's written reviews are positive against 88% of Simple Scan's.

Whisper Memos ships an update every 3 days, Simple Scan monthly. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
