# Clean Currents vs Gauge

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Clean Currents at none against Gauge's 1. Clean Currents also leads on ratings volume (23 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.5 vs 17.0). Gauge's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 6 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gauge sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Clean Currents asks for nothing beyond the download.

Gauge holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Clean Currents has 23 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Clean Currents ships an update every 6 months, Gauge every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
