# Immersion Reader vs Hanashi

The clearest difference is update cadence: Hanashi at every 2 days against Immersion Reader's every 6 days. Immersion Reader's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Immersion Reader sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Hanashi sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Immersion Reader ships an update every 6 days, Hanashi every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
