# Fresh Diary vs Kounts

The clearest difference is monetization model: Kounts at free against Fresh Diary's free with in-app purchases. Kounts also leads on device support (4 vs 2). Fresh Diary's advantage is ratings volume (31 vs 8) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fresh Diary sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Kounts sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Fresh Diary against 5.0 for Kounts. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 31 and 8 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Fresh Diary ships an update every 6 days, Kounts every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
