# Fire VPN vs Update Me | Version Insights

The clearest difference is rating: Update Me | Version Insights at 5.0 against Fire VPN's 4.4. Update Me | Version Insights also leads on ads (none vs shown). Fire VPN's advantage is ratings volume (173 vs 1) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fire VPN sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Update Me | Version Insights sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Update Me | Version Insights holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fire VPN has 173 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of Fire VPN's written reviews are positive against 25% of Update Me | Version Insights's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fire VPN ships an update every 4 weeks, Update Me | Version Insights every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
