# Locky vs App Update Access

The clearest difference is review sentiment: App Update Access at 100% against Locky's 55%. App Update Access also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6). Locky's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (505 vs 16). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Locky sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. App Update Access asks for nothing beyond the download.

Locky holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Locky has 505 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Locky's written reviews are positive against 100% of App Update Access's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Locky ships an update every 2 months, App Update Access every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
