# Ticker vs Playoff Computer

The clearest difference is rating: Playoff Computer at 5.0 against Ticker's 3.4. Ticker's advantage is ratings volume (11 vs 1) and review sentiment (63% vs 50%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ticker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Playoff Computer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Playoff Computer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ticker has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Ticker's written reviews are positive against 50% of Playoff Computer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ticker ships an update every 11 days, Playoff Computer weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
