# Sipher Odyssey vs Box Head

The clearest difference is ads: Sipher Odyssey at none against Box Head's shown. Sipher Odyssey also leads on review sentiment (81% vs 66%). Box Head's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 22). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sipher Odyssey sells 29 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Box Head sells 39 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Box Head holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Box Head has 1.5K ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Sipher Odyssey's written reviews are positive against 66% of Box Head's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sipher Odyssey ships an update every 3 weeks, Box Head monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
