# Sipher Odyssey vs Avalar

Sipher Odyssey and Avalar both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 81% of Sipher Odyssey's written reviews are positive against 66% of Avalar's. Avalar's advantage is ratings volume (150 vs 19) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sipher Odyssey sells 29 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Avalar sells 30 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Avalar holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Avalar has 150 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Sipher Odyssey's written reviews are positive against 66% of Avalar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
