# IP Scanner vs AK

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: AK at none against IP Scanner's 4. AK also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26). IP Scanner's advantage is ratings volume (889 vs 2) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IP Scanner sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. AK asks for nothing beyond the download.

AK holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IP Scanner has 889 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

IP Scanner ships an update fortnightly, AK every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
