# STVU vs UniFi Design

The clearest difference is review sentiment: STVU at 100% against UniFi Design's 23%. STVU also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 18.0). UniFi Design's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.0) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 11 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

UniFi Design holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: UniFi Design has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of STVU's written reviews are positive against 23% of UniFi Design's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

STVU ships an update every 11 months, UniFi Design fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
