# The Telegram vs Leader

The clearest difference is rating: The Telegram at 5.0 against Leader's 4.4. The Telegram also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Leader's advantage is ratings volume (66 vs 1) and update cadence (every 4 months vs every 13 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Telegram holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Leader has 66 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

The Telegram ships an update every 13 months, Leader every 4 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
