# Quickmechs vs Direct

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Quickmechs at 100% against Direct's 59%. Direct's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.0) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Direct holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Direct has 33 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Quickmechs's written reviews are positive against 59% of Direct's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Quickmechs ships an update monthly, Direct every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
