# Music Editor vs SonicForge

The clearest difference is rating: SonicForge at 5.0 against Music Editor's 4.5. SonicForge also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (daily vs every 10 days). Music Editor's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Music Editor sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and SonicForge sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SonicForge holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Music Editor has 1.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Music Editor ships an update every 10 days, SonicForge daily. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
