# Colour Varia vs Decode

The clearest difference is update cadence: Colour Varia at every 3 days against Decode's weekly. Colour Varia also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Colour Varia sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Decode sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Colour Varia ships an update every 3 days, Decode weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
