# MoviePass vs A24

The clearest difference is rating: A24 at 3.6 against MoviePass's 3.1. A24 also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17). MoviePass's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (33% vs 22%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. A24 sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. MoviePass asks for nothing beyond the download.

A24 holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 3.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 168 and 206 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of MoviePass's written reviews are positive against 22% of A24's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MoviePass ships an update fortnightly, A24 every 4 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
