# Walken Runner vs Word Buzzle

The clearest difference is monetization model: Word Buzzle at free with in-app purchases against Walken Runner's subscription. Word Buzzle also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (3.3 vs 2.9). Walken Runner's advantage is ratings volume (97 vs 12). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Walken Runner sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Word Buzzle sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Word Buzzle holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Walken Runner has 97 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Walken Runner's written reviews are positive against 14% of Word Buzzle's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Walken Runner ships an update weekly, Word Buzzle every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
