# The Chosen vs feedcombinator

The clearest difference is ads: feedcombinator at none against The Chosen's shown. feedcombinator also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). The Chosen's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 20 months) and ratings volume (9.9K vs 3). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

feedcombinator holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Chosen has 9.9K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

The Chosen ships an update every 10 days, feedcombinator every 20 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
