# Thunder Scanner vs AR ScanPRO

The clearest difference is rating: Thunder Scanner at 4.7 against AR ScanPRO's 4.2. Thunder Scanner also leads on ratings volume (649 vs 10). AR ScanPRO's advantage is review sentiment (95% vs 71%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Thunder Scanner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and AR ScanPRO sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Thunder Scanner holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Thunder Scanner has 649 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Thunder Scanner's written reviews are positive against 95% of AR ScanPRO's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Thunder Scanner ships an update every 2 weeks, AR ScanPRO weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
