# Upcoming vs Countdown Widget Timer・Sooni+

The clearest difference is monetization model: Countdown Widget Timer・Sooni+ at free with in-app purchases against Upcoming's subscription. Countdown Widget Timer・Sooni+ also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Upcoming's advantage is ratings volume (40 vs 2) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Upcoming sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Countdown Widget Timer・Sooni+ sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Countdown Widget Timer・Sooni+ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Upcoming has 40 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Upcoming ships an update every 2 months, Countdown Widget Timer・Sooni+ fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
