# Pixel Pets vs Wallpapers・Dynamic Island

The clearest difference is monetization model: Pixel Pets at free with in-app purchases against Wallpapers・Dynamic Island's subscription. Pixel Pets also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and chart position (#148 vs unranked). Wallpapers・Dynamic Island's advantage is review sentiment (81% vs 57%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pixel Pets sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Wallpapers・Dynamic Island sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Pixel Pets holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5.1K and 1.6K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Pixel Pets's written reviews are positive against 81% of Wallpapers・Dynamic Island's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pixel Pets ships an update every 3 weeks, Wallpapers・Dynamic Island every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
