# SimpRec vs Donote

The clearest difference is update cadence: Donote at weekly against SimpRec's every 2 months. Donote also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SimpRec sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Donote sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SimpRec ships an update every 2 months, Donote weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
