# G vs Castle Cafe

The clearest difference is ads: Castle Cafe at none against G's shown. Castle Cafe also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). G's advantage is ratings volume (119 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Castle Cafe holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: G has 119 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

G ships an update every 6 months, Castle Cafe fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
