# IFR Flight Simulator vs Final Approach

The clearest difference is rating: Final Approach at 5.0 against IFR Flight Simulator's 4.3. IFR Flight Simulator's advantage is ratings volume (107 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IFR Flight Simulator sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Final Approach sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Final Approach holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IFR Flight Simulator has 107 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

IFR Flight Simulator ships an update every 5 days, Final Approach every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
